Tamástslikt Cultural Institute
As mention on their website
Tamastslikt Cultural Institute is more than a visitor attraction, but
the institute helps preserve the past, present and future traditions
and practices of the Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla Tribes.
I went this year and thoroughly enjoyed my visit, especially the
guided tour by a Native American. You may learn information
you were not aware of. The exhibits are superb, and very
informative. The staff is helpful and friendly. Some of
the stories are heartbreaking. You will come away with nothing
but respect for our Native Americans.
While there you can eat at the
Kinship Cafe which is open from 11
a.m. to 2 p.m.
Check out their
menu which list baked wild salmon, Mediterranean chicken salad,
honey BBQ chicken bites, Blue Mountain Special which is baked wild
salmon served with tossed green salad, pasta salad, bread,
huckleberry pie and beverage. Also they have homemade lasagna,
nachos, pizza, grilled chicken breast, taco salad and more.
Open daily from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
First Friday of the month is free.
